Category:

A group of related assets that typically form a system, such as drainage or transportation. Category is selected from the listbox at the top of this form.

Subcategory:

A group of closely related assets within a category, such as road signs within the transportation category or stormwater within drainage. The asset list is displayed below the subcategory folder. The subcategory folder can be clicked on the -/+ sign to the left of its name to expand or collapse the list.

Category and Subcategory work together to reduce the number of assets into manageable groups.

When selecting existing fields when defining / editing assets, the list of fields is sorted by category.
